Overview

  • Ways to explore: There are two ways to experience Yehliu Geopark. Choose a Yehliu Geopark Ticket for flexible, self-guided access to the coastal landscape, with a QR code for entry and ticket validity of 365 days. Alternatively, join a Yehliu, Jiufen & Shifen Day Tour from Taipei to combine Yehliu with Jiufen Old Street and Shifen in one guided day trip, with round-trip bus transport and a Chinese and English-speaking guide.
  • Self-guided Yehliu visit: The Yehliu Geopark Ticket lets you explore the park independently at your own pace. Follow coastal trails to see the famous Queen's Head, Fairy Shoe, Sea Candle, mushroom rocks, tofu rocks, and sea caves, and visit the geological education center. Adult and child tickets include a brochure in English, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese.
  • Yehliu, Jiufen & Shifen day trip: The guided day tour is designed for travellers who want to see more of northern Taiwan in one day. Travel by coach from Ximen MRT Station with a Chinese and English-speaking guide and visit Yehliu Geopark, Jiufen Old Street, and Shifen. The experience includes bus transport, transportation service fees, audio guide equipment, and insurance.
  • Unique experiences: Yehliu Geopark is an outdoor geological landscape shaped by wind, waves, weathering, and erosion. Its unusual rock formations resemble familiar objects and figures, creating one of Taiwan's most distinctive coastal landscapes. A day trip adds a different perspective, taking you from Yehliu's geological formations to Jiufen's historic mountain streets and Shifen's waterfall and railway heritage.
  • Queues & access: The self-guided ticket provides QR code entry, allowing you to enter Yehliu Geopark directly. The flexible ticket is valid for 365 days, making it convenient if your Taiwan itinerary changes. For the guided day tour, transport is arranged from the designated meeting point at Ximen MRT Station, so you do not need to plan separate transportation between Yehliu, Jiufen, and Shifen.
  • When to book: The Yehliu Geopark Ticket is useful for travellers who want flexibility, while the day tour is a convenient option if you want to cover three attractions in one day. Booking ahead is recommended during weekends, holidays, and busy travel periods.
  • Good to know: A self-guided Yehliu visit generally takes around 1–2 hours, depending on how much time you spend at the geological formations and education center. The day tour takes a full day and combines three destinations. Wear comfortable walking shoes for both experiences, as Yehliu, Jiufen, and Shifen involve walking.
  • Best option: Choose the Yehliu Geopark Ticket if you want to explore independently and have flexibility in your itinerary. Choose the Yehliu, Jiufen & Shifen Day Tour from Taipei if you want transport, a bilingual guide, and three northern Taiwan highlights covered in one organised day.
